My post after a long time - Life has been such, another layer peeling beautifully as it does, and my theme today is interception, and exteroception.

As I scientist, I'm called to define it first, for myself and my one reader.

Interoception is the body's measuring tape for internal states like drive and hunger, and makes sense the tape is shorter (not the best analogy here but laugh with me), and unmyelinated , which is the extra grease to get faster signals from the exteroception ,(rabbit hole 3,4 later), the signals from sensory organs, Also makes sense, I ain't want to see nobody when I'm sleeping. But do we have an interoceptive and exteroceptive memory ? it seem so, interoceptive mostly signals from your gut and heart, and processed by thalamus (in both cases), but governed in different brain regions. Interoceptive memories are even consolidated during sleep when maximal ic signal can match the autonomic tone as we get out of the way ( yes I'm now on a camp, the restorative model of sleep), and perhaps people are more attuned to one type in daily life, a dominant type of memory. And perhaps we could design behavioral modification protocols around it . I know I need to update my semantic memory since I last revisited in 1989, or was it 1987..

The first half of my life, spirituality ruled my science, and for ths illater half, it's the reverse. Who'd have thought.

The one thing I'd tell her now - If I were to leave Stephenville tomorrow, you'll be the PI that finally made me comfortable with not knowing. I'd been 'working hard' for a while.
